Mission Highlights

Here at First Baptist we take seriously Jesus words to, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Mathew 28:19)

What do we do as disciples? How do we help make disciples?

Locally - We show the love of Jesus through our participation in Community Dinners, where we serve a meal monthly to people in need of Food and friendship. We serve at the First Congregational Church in Stoneham on the fourth Tuesday of the month. We show our love for Christ to those in need by financially supporting The Boston Rescue Mission, Grotonwood, a Christian camp in Groton, MA, and Teen Challenge. We also give to emergency situations locally as the need arises.

Nationally - We show the love of Jesus through our support of the Murrow Indian Children's Home in Oklahoma, as it provides residential care to children.

Internationally - We show the love of Jesus through our support of several missionary families around the world who are preaching the gospel.

Missionary Families include:

  • Tim and Patty Long, Baja, California
  • Peter & Sarah McCurdy, Dominican Republic & Cuba
  • Chuck and Carole Fennig, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Texas

International Projects include:

  • Good Samaritan Hospital, Dominican Republic
  • San Pedro School, Dominican Republic
  • Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan's Purse

We also support international crisis events through an offering called, "The One Great Hour of Sharing," as well as offerings collected for international relief efforts.

All of these ministries share the love of Christ and the message of Christ as the way, the truth and the life.

We are excited about missions giving at FBC Stoneham. Come and be a part of spreading the good news of Jesus.
